L'Ephèse is a modest, focused spot on Boulevard René-Lévesque O that caters to those craving flavorful, hearty sandwiches with a Turkmen and broader Halal twist. It’s not a sit-down restaurant in the traditional sense, but more of a casual sandwich shop where locals and visitors appreciate quick, satisfying meals, especially if you want something beyond the usual fast food options in Québec City.

The atmosphere is straightforward and intimate, with limited space inside—so expect a bit of a wait during lunchtime or early evenings when the sandwich rush is on. Despite the compact setting, the staff tends to be welcoming and personable, adding a friendly note to the experience.

The menu leans heavily into doner kebabs and poutines with variations that include kebab meat, marinated chicken, and other meaty flavors that feel well-seasoned and fresh. The sandwiches are a particular highlight, served on warm, homemade bread that adds a subtle crunch and softness that complements the savory fillings. Items like the classic Doner Kebab Sandwich and the savory Poutine Éphèse stand out for combining familiar local comfort food with a touch of Middle Eastern flair.

For those stopping by, L’Ephèse is best for lunch or casual dinner when you want a no-fuss meal packed with flavor and generous portions. It’s popular with families looking for something kid-friendly (with options like mac and cheese bites) as well as anyone in the mood for a solid, meaty sandwich made with care. The variety of poutines also offers a local Quebec twist, making it an interesting stop for those who want to try regional favorites with a unique spin.

Overall, L’Ephèse caters well to travellers and locals after a quick, authentic-tasting meal with a friendly local vibe in a central spot. If you appreciate sandwiches crafted with attention to ingredient quality and are curious about Halal and Turkmen influences on Québécois fast food, this is a place to keep on your radar.

Loved this place! The food was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. We had the Doner Kebab Pain Maison — highly recommend! The kids couldn’t get enough of the mac and cheese bites. The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

Sandwich doner kebab was 200/10. Flavours of the meat was just out of this world. Sauce was yum too but my favourite part was the slight crunch on the exterior of the bread. I think of this sandwich atleast once a day

We visited Quebec 1st time from Mississauga and we find this restaurant through google. The guy Tristan attended us with very welcoming words. Food was tasty and presented well. We had a great experience with this restaurant.

One of the best kebab/durum/shawarma I've ever tried.

We tried the fries and two sandwiches — the döner kebab and poulet mariné. Both were delicious, especially because of the homemade bread, which was warm, soft, and really added to the flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the food is made with care. The portions were generous, and everything tasted authentic. The restaurant itself is quite small, so be prepared for a bit of a wait if you come during busy hours. It’s cozy and casual — perfect for a quick, satisfying meal rather than a long sit-down dinner. One small note: the staff kindly asked us to leave a 5-star review, which I think they shouldn’t do — good service and great food speak for themselves. That said, the quality of the sandwiches was impressive and definitely worth recommending. Overall, a nice local spot with flavorful food and excellent bread — just let your customers decide their ratings freely.

It is amongst the tastiest shawarmas I've had in Quebec city. Coming from Toronto I didn't have good expectations but these guys exceeded our expectations and the server was such a nice guy who spoke good English and it was quite easy to place an order there. A must visit if you like shawarma and doner.
